HOUSTON - Incoming students at Rice University are preparing for the first day of class with O-Week.

It's a week-long orientation program to get students familiar with their new campus and classmates.

Students spent the weekend moving in.

Fifty percent of the week is devoted to getting incoming freshman academically settled by helping them choose the right classes to sign up for the fall semester.

Students are also assisted in developing a tentative degree plan in their area of interest.

They can also have their questions answered by the many volunteers who devote their time to make the program a success.

Classes at Rice University start on Monday, Aug. 20.
