HOUSTON – Hey everybody it’s time to serve up another edition of the Restaurant Report Card.
And we begin with cockroaches at El Rio Mexican Restaurant at 1117 Hamblen Road in Kingwood.
There, inspectors found a dead roach inside the refrigerator, multiple dead roaches in the sink and a live roach crawling up the kitchen wall.

The health department ordered managers to bring in a professional exterminator.
Up next we are off to Vinh-Hoa Chinese/Vietnamese Restaurant at 9600 Bellaire where Houston health officials spotted multiple roaches inside the three-compartment sink in the kitchen area.
Inspectors ordered the eatery to clean out the reach-in freezers and keep all equipment free of dead roaches and dried blood.

And this week we paid a visit to the folks at Chicago Famous Italian Beef at 1777 Airline.
Known for its delectable pizza and Italian meats, the spot was written up for a rodent problem in the dumpster area.
Inspectors found a dead rodent and rodent waste near the dumpster.

The restaurant manager said the dumpster is not their sole responsibility, it is the job of everyone located at that shopping plaza to keep the dumpster area clean and pest free.
She also pointed out that the dumpster is outside in the parking lot.
More rodent droppings, this time spotted at King’s Chicken Tandoori Cuisine on Highway 6.
There, health inspectors found rodent waste in the dry storage area.

And this week we send our congratulations to the hard-working crew at Frank’s Grill on Telephone Road.
They earn our A-Plus Award for a spotless restaurant inspection report and we say Booooo-Yaaaah, Frank!
