This week's Restaurant Report Card is filled with familiar spots, or as we like to call them, repeat violators.
The Van Loi Noodle Factory at 12319 Bellaire is where health inspectors found rodent droppings in the storage room, and this wasn't the first time. The employee at the front counter let us take a quick look around the kitchen, but then just as quickly, she asked us to leave.
At Shiv Sagar on the Southwest Freeway near Hillcroft, inspectors found roaches in the kitchen, a repeat violation from 2011.
There were rodent droppings on food storage shelves at Mayuri at 5857 Westheimer. We told you about the same pest problem there back in March.
It's not a restaurant, but inspectors found food on the shelves of the Family Dollar at 4429 Griggs that had been "bitten by rodents." They also found what they said was "heavy evidence of rodent droppings."
It's "Throw-back Thursday;" and this next place reminds Consumer Expert Amy Davis of high school where she spent many weekends: Dance Town at 7214 Airline Drive. When inspectors stopped by they saw a roach crawling on the side of a prep table next to the can opener.
Sam's Deli Diner on the Katy Freeway near Kirkwood earns an 'A+' this week for its spotless inspection. And health inspectors found no violations at AFC Sushi inside the Kroger on El Dorado Boulevard.
