HOUSTON -

Many families may be grilling out today, but our Restaurant Report Card never rests showing you which Houston eateries passed and which failed inspections by the Houston Health Department.

We chose Jack in the Box at 1395 Federal Road as our featured spot this week because health inspectors said they saw flies crawling on food in the kitchen. Three pounds of ham, tomatoes and cheese were discarded because it was off temperature. The ham was 76 degrees.

At Cafe China at 1304 Blalock, inspectors said the shrimp, chicken & beef were all off temperature. They closed the place for having no hot water.

Next time you're flying out of the big airport and you're craving a Big Mac, remember a recent complaint to the health department about the McDonald's in Terminal A. The complaint Local 2 obtained reads "There are big rats at this place." The inspection reports show the owner of the McDonald's said they're working with the city, the airport and a pest control company to eliminate their rodent problem.

Inspectors found beef, chicken, tomatoes and sausage all off temperature, and potentially hazardous, at Tony's Barbeque and Steakhouse at 1225 Travis. They said there was slime in the ice machine and gnats in the kitchen at Bouray's Burrito Bar at 609 Clay.

Our A's this week go to Pizaro's Pizza at 14028 Memorial Drive and Starbucks on Westheimer near Briarpark in Westchase. Both places had perfect inspections.
