HOUSTON – One location of a popular Cajun restaurant got two unexpected guests at the same time.
When the health inspector walked into Boudreaux's Cajun Kitchen on the Tomball Parkway near Gessner, he said he saw a roach crawling across the top of a food prep table. He also asked employees to eliminate the presence of fly activity in the kitchen.
Monica Levitz with Boudreaux's emailed us this statement:
"Boudreaux's has eliminated the pest problem through more frequent pest control visits and a more thorough inspection system of all incoming boxes and packages."
At Wok D'lite at 7810 Bellfort, inspectors said they found a live roach inside a container of vegetables and another one in the dry storage area.
At China Max inside Willowbrook Mall, inspectors said there was a roach on a cabinet door behind the counter.
Inspectors said there were more roaches and gnats at Chacho's on the South Loop near South Main.
Inside West Oaks Mall at McDonald's, inspectors said they found rodent droppings behind the cabinets in a storage area.
The Coronita Grill Buffet at 12270 Westheimer is closed, but when an inspector stopped in to meet with the new owner planning to open a new restaurant, he said the kitchen reeked of rodents and there were rat droppings on the floor and equipment. The owner will have to get rid of the rats before he can start serving food.
We're serving up A's this week to the Jamba Juice on West Gray at Shepherd and La Fresca Pizza at 26 Braeswood Square. Congratulations to both restaurants on their most recent spotless inspections.
