Resident of Brenham state living facility dies after being found in van

BRENHAM, Texas – A resident of a state supported living facility died Tuesday after being found in a van, officials said.

Amy Parrish, 48, was found in the back of a van on the campus of Brenham State Supported Living Center after being missing for several hours, according to Texas Health and Human Services Commission spokeswoman Carrie Williams.

Williams said workers immediately started CPR. She said Parrish was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The death is under investigation by both law enforcement and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Williams said.

Williams said residents are commonly driven to appointments in the vans, but she said it was not clear how Parrish, who has lived at the facility since 1976, ended up in the van.
