Hawaii's state Senate passed a bill legalizing gay marriage on Tuesday, The Associated Press and Fox News reported.

The bill only needs the governor's signature now, and Gov. Neil Abercrombie has said he would sign the measure, the AP reported.

Abercrombie had called lawmakers into a special session for the measure, the wire service reported.

The bill passed by a vote of 19-4 with two senators excused, the AP reported.
