The petition said while taking a panel off the rooftop air conditioning unit, Gonzalez was stung by several hornets that were nestled in the air conditioner, and he fell 30 feet from the roof through the Plexiglas skylight, sustaining severe life-threatening injuries.

Gonzalez claims Kingwood Medical Center was "negligent in failing to provide and maintain a safe place for Gonzalez and invitees; creating the unreasonably dangerous conditions or allowing them to be created; and failing to adequately warn (Gonzalez) of those dangerous conditions."

Kingwood Medical center denied culpability for Gonzalez' injuries and said it is investigating the the claim.
