The last members of the Stay family who were killed July 9 in their Spring home were laid to rest this week.
Family from California flew in for the service attended by the only surviving member of the family.
Cassidi, 15, tricked the killer into thinking she was dead and after he left and called 911 to warn police he was headed to her grandparents' house to kill them.
The suspect sits on a mental health floor of the Harris County Jail. His attorney, Doug Durham, has said he will explore an insanity defense for Ronald Haskell. Haskell is charged with capital murder.
Police said Stephen Stay, his wife Katie, Bryan, Rebecca, Emily and Thomas were killed July 9 by a man who had previously walked away from a mental health facility. It's not clear when Haskell walked away.
Haskell had been married to Katie Stay's sister, Melanie, before Melanie divorced Haskell in February.
The Stay family believes Haskell was unhappy that Katie, her husband and her grandparents had protected Melanie she divorced Haskell.
Investigative reporter Jace Larson takes an in-depth look at the case in the video above, remembering the victims and looking into Haskell's likely defense.
