Registered sex offender takes pictures of 2 girls living in neighborhood, officials say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A registered sex offender is accused of taking pictures of two girls who live in his neighborhood, according to the

Paul Aaron Bagwell, 50,  is locked up and being held on $200,000 bond after he was arrested for persuading two young girls to pose partially nude on camera.

According to investigators with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constables child-pornography unit, Bagwell had been living at a halfway house and was able to make contact with his two young victims who live in the same neighborhood.

Acting on a search warrant, detectives arrested Bagwell at that address and were able to retrieve photos of those girls from Bagwell's cellphone.

Bagwell has a dark history of sexual crimes; November 1995, he was convicted of sexual assault of a child involving a 15-year-old girl.

Two years later in November of 1997, he was convicted of indecency with a child-sexual contact, this time involving a 10-year-old girl.

Bagwell was charged with two counts of sexual performance by a child.
