WASHINGTON -

Ray Charles fans will soon be able to honor one of the greatest American musicians of all time with a postal stamp.

Monday, September 23 would have been Ray Charles’ 83rd birthday, and the United States Postal Service will release a limited edition Forever stamp as a tribute to his musical legacy.

The stamp art features an image of Charles with his infectious smile, taken later in his career, by photographer Yves Carrère.

Along with the release of the Ray Charles Forever® stamp, a deluxe CD/DVD collection entitled Ray Charles Forever, will be available at major post office locations across the country and online.

The CD will featured an unreleased track, “They Can’t Take That Away From Me,” and remastered classics like “A Song For You,” and “Ring Of Fire.”

The stamp will be available on Monday, September 23 at your local post office and online.
