Rash of home burglaries in NW Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Thieves seem to be targeting  a small community in northwest Harris County.

The Pine Oak Forest subdivision is just north of 1960 and west of Interstate 45.

Harris County sheriff's deputies say within just a two-week period there have been more than a half dozen break-ins.

"We all work so very hard for our belongings and other people choose not to work for their belonging," said one neighbor.

Some of the burglaries have happened on Mossforest Drive and Wild Oak Drive.

In one case, the crook removed an entire air conditioning wall unit and crawled through the hold in the wall.

In another case, neighbors say the suspects actually cut a dog in the process when it started barking.

No arrests have been made, but deputies are stepping up patrols in the area.
