Traffic cameras caught the downpours as they soaked major roads in Galveston County
Hail was even spotted on one of Galveston's web cams.
It was 80 degrees around 1 p.m. before the heavy rain arrived. About an hour later, temperature hovered around 70 degrees thanks to the rain quickly cooling the air.
The skies will continue to clear here behind Wednesday's cold front. In Galveston, temperatures will be bottoming out in the upper 50s to about 60 degrees.
