ALVIN, Texas – Thousands of Texas-New Mexico Power customers were without power in Alvin for hours Tuesday night.
As of 9:20 p.m., 2,663 households were without power.
The company blamed an equipment failure, and were investigating the cause of the outage.
Officials said the power outage wasn't weather related. Power was restored by midnight.
Temperatures in southeast Texas reached triple-digits and broke records on Tuesday.
