It happened as a woman drove to her gated driveway and then opened her garage door, authorities said. As she began to step out of her vehicle, she was met by three black males wearing ski masks, police said. According to authorities, they approached her from behind and demanded her purse. Police said one of the suspects had a gun, so the woman handed over her purse. As one suspect was emptying her purse, the two other suspects asked if anyone else was in the house and whether or not they had any money, investigators said.

The woman's husband said he heard his wife scream and grabbed his pistol.

"I got the flashlight, got my pistol and went downstairs. I shot at him once, I didn't hit anybody, but it scared them and they took off," said the victim's husband.

No one was injured.
