Police: Woman assaulted, robbed outside SE Houston apartment complex

Neighbor says he witnessed assault outside complex

HOUSTON – A community is living in fear after word a woman was brutally attacked outside a southeast Houston apartment complex.

The woman said it happened at the Catalina Village apartments in the 3500 block of Dixie Drive near Old Spanish Trail.

One neighbor, who didn't want to be identified, said he witnessed the crime.

"I seen two guys, and five minutes later, I seen a lady and a guy laying her on the ground with a gun to her head," said the neighbor. "Got up, escorted her to her car and made her drive, and he sat on the passenger side, she sat on the driver side."

The neighbor said he saw the car take off. A little while later, he said the woman came back.

"About 30 minutes later, the police were out here, and she came back screaming, saying she had been raped," said the neighbor.

A letter was sent to residents, telling them to be extra cautious.

Jessica Diosdado, who also lives in the apartments, said the note was a bit vague.

"It just said that a crime had occurred. To be safe and to lock your doors and be careful at night," said Diosdado.

Jessica said she won't be coming out at night alone any time soon.

"For everybody's safety, they should watch it when they are getting out of the car. Stay alert," said Diosdado.

Police said so for they don't have any suspects in custody. If you have any information about the case, you're asked to give Crime Stoppers a call at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
