HOUSTON - A crime alert for University of Houston students was sent out after police said a student was robbed on campus, and then hit by the suspect's car.

Investigators said two women in a four-door silver Ford Taurus drove up to a student near entrance 10 at Wheeler and asked her for cash.

The student said she didn't have any money, so the crooks asked to use her cell phone to get money for gas, investigators said.

When the student let them use her phone, investigators said they grabbed it and tried to take off. The student jumped in front of the car and was hit.

No word yet on the student's condition. If you have any information, you're asked to give police a call.
