School district officials said the parent spotted a large group outside the field house near the stadium.

"We don't know what their intentions were, but they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's fortunate that our officers were there," school district spokeswoman Susan Castro said.

Darius Tyler, 18, and Devin Webber, 18, were both arrested and charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

"If they had tried to get into the stadium, they would not have. I think that's why they were out in the parking lot. They would have had to go through someone going through the wand over them. They would have never have gotten beyond the entrance," Castro said.

School district officials said that if Tyler and/or Weber are convicted, they would face mandatory jail time.
