Police: Teen dead after gun goes off at Stafford house party

Stafford Police: Victim likely shot elsewhere, then moved

STAFFORD – Stafford police say a party at home in Stafford at the intersection of Drive turned deadly overnight.

Police say the suspect claims to have been playing with a gun when it went off at the home located at Southmeadow Drive and Glen Meadow and killed 18-year-old Andrew Nwokobia.

After the shooting, Nwokobia somehow got into the back of a sedan and the suspect drove off, but only got about one mile and stopped in the middle of the road.

A tow truck driver driving by stopped and called police when he spotted the driver sitting in the front seat of the parked car with Nwokobia's body with a gunshot wound to his face in the back of the car around 3 a.m. Friday at Sugar Grove and Mulholland.

Stafford police took the driver, Tiraye Robinson, into custody. He faces a manslaughter charge for Nwokobia's death.

Anyone with further information that would assist Stafford police with their investigation should call Det. A. Mutchler at 281-261-3961.
