Police are looking for the four men they said robbed two banks in Montgomery County Monday afternoon.
Shenandoah police said four armed black men entered the Wood Forest National Bank, located in the 1500 block of Research Forest Drive, just before 2 p.m. Monday.
Officials said the suspects were very aggressive when they took over the bank.
"For all intents a purposes it was a pretty violent robbery. They did jump over counters," said Bryan Carlisle, assistant police chief.
One employee was pistol-whipped on the back of the head, according to police.
Investigators said another employee was treated at the scene for breaking problems.
Police believe the same suspects robbed the Bank of America on College Park just before the robbery at Wood Forest National Bank.
Officials said around 12:45 p.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 4000 block of College Park Drive.
"To have that happen this time of day is unusual, says they don't have a lot of fear, not good for us," said Carlisle.
Investigators said four masked men entered the bank with handguns and demanded money. The suspects got cash and then drove off in a black Dodge pickup.
Witnesses described the suspect’s get-away vehicle to police as having “nice rims”. Witnesses said the suspects drove toward Interstate 45.
Officials said the suspects have not been identified or arrested.
Descriptions of the suspects are vague and investigators are reviewing evidence and following up
