Police search for woman who hit child over head with broom stick, police say

HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department is asking for the public’s help finding a woman who hit a child over the head with a broom, police said.

According to authorities, Mia Nicole Dorian, 36, abused a 12-year-old child July 26.

Dorian hit the child on the head with a broom stick, knocking the child onto the floor. Police said she then sat on the child and struck her in the face repeatedly.

Authorities said Dorian then grabbed the child’s hair and banged the child’s head onto the kitchen floor until the child lost consciousness.

The child was transported to the hospital for injuries from the assault, according to officials.

Dorian is described as a black woman standing 5 feet 4 inches and weighs 180 pounds, police said.
Dorian has tattoos on her neck, wrists, arms and back.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and/or arrest of the suspect in this case.
