HOUSTON -

Four masked men who robbed a McDonald's at gunpoint remain on the run.

The robbery happened Saturday around 9:10 p.m. on Highway 290 and Fairbanks North Houston Road.

According to the Houston Police Department, the four men rushed into the store and held the employees and customers at gunpoint, demanding money.

They then robbed the restaurant and customers before running outside and speeding away in a Dodge Challenger.

An officer in a police car spotted the thieves driving off and began chasing them.

Officers chased the men on Fairbanks North Houston to West Little York Road, then east on Little York Road, until the men ran into a curb at Chateau Forest Drive.

According to police, they then drove into a business's parking lot .

Then robbers jumped out of the car and ran away.

The Houston Police Department and Harris County Sheriff's Office searched the area using K-9 officers and a helicopter.
