Police search for New Year's Day robbers

HOUSTON – Investigators are asking for the public's help finding a group of thieves, who police say robbed a man on New Year's Day.

Houston police said the victim dropped off a woman and her children at an apartment complex on West Gulf Bank Road on January 1.

According to police, the man was still sitting in his car when two men approached the vehicle. Those men robbed him at gunpoint and beat him until he was unconscious.

When the man regained consciousness, police said the robbers, the woman, her children and his vehicle were gone.
 
Later that day, three men and the woman were seen on surveillance video using the victim's credit card. The group charged purchases at two stores, both located on Tomball Parkway.
 
Investigators said two of the robbers may use the nicknames "J" and "T."  Both are known to frequent the area near West Gulf Bank Road and Antoine Drive.
