Police said Johnson robbed the Cricket phone store at 2015 Richey shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers said the victim told them a man armed with a gun walked into the store and demanded money.

Investigators said the robber left the store and got into a black Monte Carlo driven by McAffee.

The information was broadcast over the police radio system. Within minutes, two motorcycle officers saw the vehicle on South Shaver. The suspects approached another officer, who was conducting a traffic stop near Shaver and Queens, causing them to slow down.

At that point, Johnson got out of the vehicle and began running, police said. Officers pursued the suspect to a business located in the 100 block of Fresa, where police said he ran into the store and into the restroom. He was later arrested.

McAffee was arrested at the location of the vehicle.
