HOUSTON -

Houston police have released a sketch of the man they say broke into an elderly woman's home and sexually assaulted her.

Investigators say the man broke into the woman's home in the 10000 block of Metronome in the Spring Oaks, Enchanted Forest neighborhood in early February at around 8 a.m. Police say the 84-year-old woman woke up in her bedroom and saw the man standing by her bed.

"I do not know how the suspect got into her bedroom. But he was tapping on her sheets. That's what woke her up and then strangled her until she was unconscious, sexually assaulted her and then left," said Jeff McShan, with the Harris County District Attorney's Office.

Officers say he strangled her until she lost consciousness and then assaulted her.

"I can't stress how important. Tremendously important. They all should be found...and shot," said one neighbor, who asked not to be identified. "There is no words to describe how disgusting it is. I don't know how he could have gotten in. We are all pretty well prepared here."

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and filing of felony charges in this case.
