Police: Motorist fails to yield to officer, causes crash

HOUSTON – Police said an officer is recovering after he slammed his patrol car into another vehicle.

The accident happened around 10 p.m. Thursday night at the intersection of Westheimer and Dairy Ashford.

Investigators said the officer was responding to a call with his emergency lights on when another driver failed to yield, causing the officer to T-bone the car.

The officer was taken to the hospital for an injury to his hand. The driver of the other car was not hurt.

No word yet on any charges.
