Police: Man uses someone else's credit card at Target

SUGAR LAND, Texas – A man took three children along with him when he went on a shopping spree with someone else's money, investigators said.

Sugar Land police said the man went to the Target store in the 16300 block of the Southwest Freeway on Nov. 12 and bought iPods and Xbox games totaling more than $820.

Bharat Patel, the credit card holder, said he accidentally left his wallet at a McDonald's in the 3400 block of Highway 6 on Nov. 11, detectives said.

Patel said his bank called him that night about a fraudulent charge made at a gas station in the 1700 block of Williams Trace Boulevard, so he canceled the card. The next day, more charges were attempted at a Walmart and the Target, police said. That was when he realized his wallet was missing.

"You see three kids. What example is he going to set for them? That's what I'm concerned about," Patel said. "If he still has the wallet, it would be nice if he could return it to me. It still has important stuff that I need."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.
