FRIENDSWOOD, Texas - A Friendswood man has been accused of stealing library books then selling them to a book store for gas money.
Justin Sellars, 19, has been charged with theft.
According police, the Friendswood Public Library received a call on March 19 from the manager of a resale book store who said he noticed five books sold to the store were marked with the Friendswood Public Library stamp.
Sellars checked out the books from the library at around 10:15 a.m. and sold the books to the store a about an hour later, police said.
While the officer was taking a report on the theft at the library, Sellars returned, police said.
Sellars admitted to selling the books for gas money, police said.
The five books were valued at more than $200.
