Police: Man shot, killed during robbery

HOSUTON – A man was shot and killed during a robbery on South Post Oak early Saturday morning, Houston Police say.

Authorities identified the victim as 39-year-old Frederico "Roland" Garza.

Police said Garza and his wife had a disagreement at their BBQ stand prior to the shooting. The couple ran the stand together in front of a family business. Police said Garza was walking in the 14,000 block after the disagreement when he was shot. Police said his wife found him dead beside the road.

"I feel sorry for someone so inhuman to take somebody's life and just throw it away like it meant nothing. He had a wife that he adored and she adored him," said Ophelia Garza, Garza's mother. "Whoever did this to him, it's their conscience, their guilt, their punishment. Maybe not on this earth but somewhere. And I do hope that these people repent and find what it is good in the world. Crime doesn't solve nothing."

Investigators said they have little solid information from witnesses. If you can help solve this crime, call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. You can remain anonymous and could earn a cash reward.
