Police: Man run over by train in NW Houston

HOUSTON – Police say a man run over by a train on the tracks on Long Point near Hempstead Highway in northwest Houston.

Investigators say the conductor was moving cars around on the tracks at around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday when he noticed something on the tracks behind the train.

Jonathan Edward Montcomery, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say he may have slept under the rail cars to protect himself from the rainy weather. It appeared he had been run over, according to police.

The investigation is pending the cause of death to be determined by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
