Police: Man records teen in dressing room

Teen girl found cellphone set to record

TOMBALL, Texas – A Tomball man has been accused of using his cellphone camera to record a teenage girl inside a Kohl's store dressing room, according to police.

Ronnie Royston, 37, has been charged with improper photography.

A Magnolia woman told Tomball police that Royston followed her and her two daughters around Kohl's while they were shopping last month.

According to police, Royston set his phone to record video, then hid it in a pair of swimming trunks and left them on the floor of the dressing room. A girl in the dressing room found the phone and handed it over to her mother.

According to the mother, there was a recording of her 16-year old daughter, partially undressed, as well as video of Royston, allegedly hiding the camera in the dressing room moments earlier.

Store security cameras caught Royston entering the store with a cellphone in his hand.

According to investigators, once confronted with the evidence, Royston admitted to watching women enter the store. However, Royston insisted he lost his cellphone while he was inside.

"I'll definitely be taking a second look at my surroundings inside the dressing room," said one shopper.

Improper photography is a felony that carries a sentence of up to two years behind bars, if convicted.
