Police: Man lured from nightclub, robbed at gunpoint

HOUSTON – A man lured from a night club with the promise of a "good time" was ambushed and shot in southwest Houston.

Investigators said the victim left the Carrington's Billards night club with two women around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Once they arrived at the Mainridge Apartments at 2600 Westridge, investigators said the two women got out and at least one other man walked up and demanded the victim's cash and keys.

The victim slammed his car into reverse, trying to get away, but police said the crooks opened fire and shot him at least once. The victim crashed into a nearby apartment living room.

Onnita Crissmon said she was sleeping when the victim crashed into her home.

"I heard stuff crackling, I immediately jumped up and saw it was a car," said Crissmon. "I tried to go see my son, but I couldn't get through because it pushed all my furniture in the way. I called 911 and they told me there was a shooting. I'm just so glad my son is okay."

"He got out of the car holding his jaw," said a witness.

According to police, a bullet grazed the victim underneath his chin. He was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition.

So far, no arrests have been made. Police said they are hoping the victim's statement will help them track down the people responsible.
