Police: Man blows kisses at boy walking to school

HOUSTON – A man has been accused of trying to lure a teenage boy into his car twice.

Roberto Orellana, 27, has been charged with child enticement, a third-degree felony.

Alief Independent School District officials said Orellana was arrested near Holub Middle School, 9515 South Dairy Ashford, on Monday.

"On Thursday morning, the man actually stopped and got out of the vehicle and tried to get the boy to get into the car with him. The boy immediately called his father, who told him to go on to school and tell an officer," Alief ISD spokeswoman Susan Castro said.

Alief ISD police said they set up surveillance on Monday morning. They told the eighth-grade boy to walk to school as he normally does. As he walked, police said they were watching through binoculars and saw Orellana blowing kisses at the boy.

"He's not from this area, so he was coming from another part of town over here to follow this young man. We don't know if he's followed others," Castro said.

Orellana lives in the Gulfton area in southwest Houston, police said. That's about 11 miles from Alief.

Anyone with information about other incidents is asked to call Alief ISD police at 281-498-8810, extension 5570.
