LA PORTE, Texas – La Porte police assisted in an arrest of a man Friday for two murders that took place on Sept. 27, 1997.
Gordon Craig Houser was arrested for capital murder in the death of Charles Hayes and Kathy Hayes.

The arrest was a result of a grand jury indictment that was unsealed on Jan. 30.
At that time, deputies from the U.S. Marshalls Office and Polk County Arkansas Sheriff's Office traveled to Houser's home in Wickes, Arkansas, where he was placed in custody without incident.
