HOUSTON -

Houston police are hoping new surveillance video and photos will help them catch a group of thieves that robbed and beat a man at a southwest Houston convenience store.

This happened on December 17, 2013 at a convenience store at 6060 West Bellfort.

Investigators said the victim, 43, was approached by the two men outside the store asking for money.

When the victim told them he didn't have any, the men followed him into the store and then started beating him when he left.

Officials said the men hit the victim with a tire iron and then took money from his pocket.

The victim suffered severe lacerations and was taken to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Police describe the suspects as Hispanic men in their 20s who are about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with thin to medium builds and mustaches. Both men wore distinctive jackets and one was heavily tattooed on his head and arms.

Officials said the men left the store in a white vehicle of unknown make or model.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call the HPD Robbery Division at 713-308-0700 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
