Police: Girl, 15, attacked while in shower

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas – A man broke into a home and attacked a 15-year-old girl as she took a shower, investigators said.

Friendswood police said the teen was home alone at a home in the 16100 block of Bougainvillea when a man kicked in the door about 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday.

The burglar apparently realized someone was home, went into the bathroom and found the teen in the shower, police said. The man got into the shower and the two struggled, investigators said.

Detectives said the teen fought back and the man ran out of the home. She then called 911.

The girl said the man told her he had a gun, according to police.

Investigators searched the area for the man and tracked his path to the area of Mountain Timber and Leigh Canyon in the Heritage Park subdivision, where they lost the trail.

The man was described as black, 19 to 20 years old and 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall with stubble on his chin. He was last seen wearing a wet T-shirt and jeans. The girl said the man has a deep voice.

Police said they are working to determine if this break-in is connected to another that happened in the 1200 block of Arbre Lane on Feb. 18. In that case, a woman was home when a man broke in through a back door. Her purse was stolen but later found in a park in the Heritage Park subdivision.
