Houston police arrested a man after a chase and search that lasted three hours Friday morning.
Just before 3:00 a.m., HPD officers spotted a dark blue Ford Explorer that ran a red light near Lee Road in northeast Houston.
They tried to pull him over, but he refused to stop. Instead, he pulled into a gas station parking lot on the Eastex Freeway and Old Humble Road.
He jumped out and ran into a wooded area.
He left his wife in the passenger seat. She told police she was sleeping during the chase.
"We did find a female in the back of the truck who identified the driver of the truck as her husband and we were able to ascertain he already has a warrant out for running from police," HPD's Larry Crowson said.
A helicopter and police K-9 units were brought in to find him. After three hours, they found him.
He was put in the back of a police cruiser and will be taken in for questioning along with his wife.
Charges are pending, police said.
