Police surround vehicle after chase through north Houston

HOUSTON – Police surrounded a vehicle Monday morning after a chase through north Houston.

The chase started about 9 a.m. after a driver refused to stop near North Freeway and West Road, according to Houston police.

The driver went the wrong way on the freeway and adjacent service roads several times and through parking lots during the chase, police reported.

Police eventually cut off the vehicle near the North Freeway and Rankin Road.

Video from Sky 2 showed at least three police vehicles parked against a pickup in a grassy area off Rankin Road. A man also appeared to be in police custody.
