HOUSTON -

Houston police have released details about an alleged theft ring at a popular electronics store.

According to investigators, Amar Hussain, 22, an employee at the Best Buy on FM 1960 and Willow Centre Drive in northwest Houston, sold about 35 cell phones to a friend at a deeply discounted rate.

The merchandise totaled more than $32,000.

Investigators said the friend, Salman Sattar, 20, only paid about $6,000 for the merchandise.

Both Hussain and Sattar are charged with theft.
