Police: Burglary suspect crashes during chase

PEARLAND, Texas – A burglary suspect was arrested after he led officers on a chase, investigators said.

Pearland police said they got a call at 12:52 p.m. Tuesday about someone breaking into a home in the 7600 block of Quiet Trace and then leaving.

An officer in an unmarked unit spotted the suspect's car two minutes later on Cullen near Freedom, police said. An officer in a marked unit then caught up with the suspect's car a short time later.

The suspect hit another vehicle during the pursuit and eventually crashed at Schurmier near Cullen, police said. The suspect ran and jumped over at least one fence before he was arrested, investigators said.

The driver was identified as 25-year-old Jeremy McDaniel. Charges against him were pending.
