Police ask for help finding JC Penney shoplifters

SUGAR LAND, Texas – Sugar Land Police are asking for the public’s help finding three people who stole merchandise from the Sephora in JC Penney at 16529 Southwest Freeway. The incident happened just before 3 p.m. July 2.

Two women were seen on store surveillance video putting items in their purses.

The women were stopped by loss-prevention officers outside the store after they were seen trying to leave with the stolen merchandise in their purses. The officers were scratched during a struggle with the women while trying to take the purses and only were able to recover one.

The women escaped with a man in a silver passenger car.

One of the unidentified women is described as Hispanic and heavy-set with a brown ponytail. She is about 5 feet 4 inches tall and was wearing large sunglasses with a white shirt and blue jeans. The other woman is also Hispanic, described as tall and thin with brown hair and blonde streaks. She is around 5 feet 9 inches tall and was wearing a navy shirt with blue jeans.
