Police arrest 2 teenagers after chase in stolen truck

HOUSTON – Houston police took two teenagers into custody after investigators said they lead officers on a chase Wednesday morning.

According to investigators, the chase began when police patrolling the area near Pinemont Drive and North Shepherd Drive noticed a white truck run a red light.

When the officer signaled for the driver to stop, the driver took off.

The boy behind the wheel eventually crashed the truck in a ditch, and both he and his passenger jumped out and ran.

Officers followed the driver, who sprinted down the street and then stopped on the front porch of his parents' home.

The passenger was caught after a K-9 unit led officers to his hiding spot in a nearby yard. He was treated for a twisted ankle.

Police believed the two teenagers stole the white truck, which was registered to The Davey Tree Expert Company.
