Police: 3 men in custody after attempted burglary at car dealership

HOUSTON - Three men are in custody after an attempted burglary at a car dealership.

It happened around 3 a.m. Monday near the Gulf Freeway and Fuqua Road.

According to Clear Lake patrol officers, an alarm company contacted authorities after they spotted three or four men on the security cameras inside the dealership.

Police say the men used long bars and pry tools to attempts top break into the safe room. 

When they were unsuccessful they attempted to break through an interior window to the cash office.  

Officers arrived to find two men fleeing the location on foot.  

The burglars ran across the freeway to a business parking lot where they were taken into custody.  

Canine officers then spotted a third man hiding in the bushes behind the dealership.

He was also taken into custody.

The men face possible charges of burglary of a business and evading arrest.
