HOUSTON – Police say they found two people dead inside an apartment after a SWAT standoff in the Ashton Wood complex in northwest Harris County.
Authorities said a man was barricaded in his apartment on Butte Creek after deputies tried serving a mental health warrant.
When precinct deputies arrived, they heard several gunshots coming from inside and believed the suspect had just shot his mother, authorities said.
When deputies were unable to make contact with the suspect, the HCSO was called to make the scene, authorities said.
HCSO deputies said two persons were found deceased inside the residence. It is believed that the victims are the suspect and his mother. No other information is available at this time.
Authorities blocked and closed roads in and out of the apartment complex during the standoff.
