Police: 1 dies, 2 injured at party

HOSUTON – Houston police said a party in northwest Houston ended with one person dead and at least two others injured.

It happened around 12:55 a.m. Sunday at the Shadyvilla Condos near Antoine.

Police said a violent fight broke out after a party in one of the units and three victims were stabbed.

"We currently have one deceased Hispanic male, and at least two others injured," said Houston police department Detective Steven Straughter.

According to authorities, Jose Fernandez Maes, a resident in the complex, died at 47-years-old.

The suspects, Neva Gonzales, 24, and Samuel Alvardo, 33, were taken into police custody and charged with capital murder.

A resident who did not want to be identified told Local 2 the fight involved a man and a woman.

"They just moved in yesterday. One used to live here. He moved out and moved back yesterday. That was a big heartache," said resident Zach Mansee.
