The cruise ship business is doing so well in Galveston, the island is now making plans for a new terminal.

The Port of Galveston has approved spending up to $100,000 to hire an architect to design a third cruise-ship terminal.

Currently the port can only handle two large ships at a time.

The Board of Trustees unanimously agreed Monday to hire Los Angeles architect firm McTigue for programming, concept design and alternative development plans for the third cruise terminal.

No word on when the terminal could be built.
