Scoring the best deals on Rodeo Houston tickets

HOUSTON – Tickets for Rodeo Houston go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. and this year, there are big changes with how to buy tickets, both online and in person.

For the first time in the rodeo's 77-year history, attendees can only buy tickets for one performance, each transaction. They'll have to wait in line all over again to get tickets for a second or third show.

Every year, there are music fans who fume because all the good seats were snatched up in seconds. So in 2015, rodeo organizers are limiting the number of seats a customer can buy to 10-per transaction, and only one performance per day.

"This is done basically to give everyone reasonable access to our tickets because we know the demand is high," said Rodeo Houston CEO Joel Cowley.

Cowley said after someone buys tickets to one performance, they can go back into the waiting room to start over. Organizers also hope it'll keep scalpers at bay.

For anyone who doesn't want to get tickets online, they're going on sale Saturday morning at BBVA Stadium. On Monday, The box office on the south side of NRG Stadium will open to sell tickets for the entire rodeo season.
