Photos released of men wanted for shooting ATM security guard in Montrose area

HOUSTON – Authorities have released surveillance photos of two suspects wanted in the shooting of a security guard at a convenience store in the Montrose area.

Police say on the morning of July 18 the guard was escorting an ATM company employee to the ATM inside The "C" Store at 1415 Richmond. One of the suspects entered the store and made a purchase while the other suspect stayed outside the store near the front entrance.

According to police, the victim sat in his company Prius waiting for his co-worker to return when both suspects approached the vehicle. One of them knocked on the driver's side window while the other pulled out a pistol. The suspect then fired a shot into the vehicle and struck the victim near the shoulder area.

Both suspects immediately fled on foot and might have gotten into a gray or silver, small, sport utility-type vehicle. Police believe there was a third man involved who was the getaway driver.

The suspects did not get any cash because the Prius the security guard was driving was specially equipped with a safe in the center console.

The 53-year-old victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
