Pearland High School student buys gun from another student on campus

Police say there was no threat and the weapon was unloaded

PEARLAND, Texas - According to Pearland ISD, a student at Pearland High School claims he bought a gun from another student on campus on Friday morning.

According to police, 17-year-old Jesus Abrego, brought a handgun to school with the intent to sell it to another student, 17-year-old Nathan Monsibais.

Officials say the exchanged occurred between the students during first period. The handgun was recovered from Monsibais and found to be unloaded.

Police said there was no threat.

Both students have been charged with places weapons prohibited: school, a third degree felony.

The weapon was recovered.
