HOUSTON – A shooting during an argument in southeast Houston has left one person dead and another hospitalized, according to investigators.

Houston police surrounded the Belarbor apartments at 6060 Belarbor Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard Wednesday afternoon after a man was shot and killed just steps away from the complex.

The victim's grandfather identified the man as 20-year-old Demarkus Harrison. Witnesses say Harrison had a ongoing issues with the shooters for days.

"He came out of the door and that boy was standing in the doorway and that boy just started shooting. Hit him one time in the chest and another in the arm and my grandson was running away from him. He was running. That's where he collapsed, there in the middle of the street," said Paul Callis, the victim's grandfather.

Those who know the man who was killed say he was a father and leaves behind a 2-year-old little boy.

Later Wednesday afternoon while the investigation was still underway, emotions got out of control when a driver tried to ram his car into a mob of angry people.

Police plan on questioning all of the witnesses at the scene as they try and track down the killer in this murder case.
